However, when you hear him talk about why he thinks, believes, and feels the way he does for the sport, you hear a guy telling you what makes him a legendary figure in the sport. We’ve all seen the iconic photograph of Kapil Dev clutching the World Cup, and the video explores why we become emotional every time we see it.
On the surface, ’83 is about the triumph of an underdog squad. As you learn more about each actor’s easy portrayal of a great cricketer from the 1983 squad, you get the impression that this film was made with a well-crafted plot, supported by nuanced and internalised performances, and each department contributing their technical genius.
