Love Today Movie Review:
The tension that drives the plot of Love Today, directed by Pradeep Ranganathan, was made clear to us in the trailer. There were some questions regarding how Pradeep would have been able to turn this notion into a full-length movie despite the fact that it appeared like a good idea. However, the director, who also makes his acting debut as the lead, has found the perfect balance between a series of interesting events and a quirky screenplay. The movie Love Today has relatable, flawed characters who are trying to improve at their core, which is one of its best qualities.
Pradeep Uthaman, who considers his love Nikitha (Ivana) to be his universe, tells her, “I know everything about you.” After a few corny romantic scenes between them, Nikitha’s stern, traditional father (Sathyaraj) is introduced, who significantly alters the course of their love affair. He makes the couple swap phones for a day while expressing his desire to marry them if everything goes well.

When Pradeep and Nikitha learn some sinister truths about one another, trouble starts. In the second part, Nikitha learns that her lover is worse than she could have ever imagined while Pradeep examines Nikitha’s phone in the first. Will they resolve their issues despite having opposing views and regain the mutual trust they once shared?
Love Today is a fun-filled look at contemporary love and how our cell phones may reveal our true selves when we are alone ourselves. This plot would have been the worst screenplay ever written if it had been a one-sided relationship. Pradeep, however, has handled it well and made an effort to tell a tale about flawed characters from various viewpoints.
In the process, he also makes clear how trust is a key component of every successful partnership.
If the focus had been just on the main protagonists, the script would have suffered, but the filmmaker deserves praise for successfully including a fascinating side plot with Raveena Ravi and Yogi Babu. Yogi Babu gives a tremendously strong performance as Divya, Pradeep’s sister, and Raveena’s fiancée. The movie also looks at the emotional toll that body-shaming has on the victim in the conclusion.

Even if the movie contains several exaggerations and errors, they may be overlooked because the movie is mostly entertaining. Pradeep appears to have been aware of the mood of his audience because he included several amusing moments that kids are sure to find appealing.
He has performed quite convincingly as an actor. Although he has a strong screen presence, he will need to put in a little more effort to handle sensitive scenes. Ivana has done a nice job as Nikitha. Her acting leading up to the climax feels really realistic. Despite having less screen time, Sathyaraj’s performance causes the screenplay to improve in the middle.
He is just ideal and adds intrigue to the situation. The role of Pradeep’s mother is ideally suited to Radikaa Sarathkumar. Both Raveena Ravi and Akshaya Udayakumar, who play Ivana’s sister, gave their all. The background music by Yuvan Shankar Raja raises the tension as the scene nears its conclusion.
Overall, Love Today is a fun movie to see and a great weekend activity.
