Malavika Mohanan recounted the previous year, 2021, in her most recent social media post. She discussed the highs and lows of the year 2021. Malavika Mohanan revealed that her career life was ‘wonderful,’ but her personal life was in a rut, which she resolved with the support of her friends.
“It’s been a difficult year.” We have a tendency to just show the world the nice, entertaining, and bright aspects of our life. This is also understandable. Who wants to recall and capture the negative bits, right? Life is stressful enough without having to constantly be reminded of our unhappiness or heartbreaks. But this year was far more difficult for me than any previous. Professionally, things were great—my first film of the year became one of the year’s biggest box office hits, I got to work on another project with one of our generation’s favorite actors and learned a lot from him, I started work on my first Bollywood film, and I signed another exciting film that will begin shooting in February…
Malavika Mohanan shared, “The list is packed with a lot of other great things.”
“But personally, I was in a funk,” she continued. I was in a pretty bad position for a few months, and it was perhaps the lowest I’ve ever felt in my life. The absence of certainty in one’s personal life may be just as soul-crushing as the lack of it in one’s professional life. Apart from my beautiful family, the only thing that got me through that period was my fantastic friends. So many times, we put friendship on the back burner. If you’re too busy working, you’ll spend your leisure time with your family.
If you’re in a new relationship, you spend all of your time with that person and disregard your friends, and some of them you don’t talk to for months since your life is too hectic. In a world that can often be so phony, flaky, insensitive, and just plain tough, true friendship is one of the purest types of unconditional love that exists. My friends have been the finest part of 2021 for me, and I want for all of you to be surrounded by people as wonderful as mine.”
