Pushpa Box Office Day 13 (Hindi): Exceeds the Lifetime of KGF Chapter 1 and Places Behind Baahubali: The Beginning
The Hindi version of KGF Chapter 1 grossed 44.09 crores at the box office.
So far, the box office performance of Pushpa (Hindi) has been nothing short of miraculous. When it comes to pure-play dubbed pictures from the south (without any franchise backing) that have been distributed across India, the film is now officially the second-highest grosser. While Baahubali: The Beginning is now at the top, KGF Chapter 1 has been a second place for the past three years.
Well, the Yash starrer’s lifetime figures have now been topped by Allu Arjun’s Pushpa, and in a record-breaking duration of just 13 days. While KGF Chapter 1 grossed 44.09 crores at the box office in India, Pushpa has surpassed that with 45 crores*, with a lot more to come. This is a remarkable achievement, given that the film was released with almost little advertising and has nevertheless managed to travel such a great distance.
In reality, none of these dubbed films had a standalone release, and each one faces stiff competition. Baahubali: The Beginning had Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan releasing just a week later, KGF Chapter 1 clashed with Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home had Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home taking an early lead by releasing one day before and starting on a blockbuster note, and had Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home taking an early lead by releasing one day
This goes on to say that nothing can truly stop a good film from becoming a box office success.
